eli stone

eli stone is "a Field of Dreams-type drama set in a law firm where a thirty-something attorney begins having larger-than-life visions that compel him to do out-of-the-ordinary things."

it's not as kooky as the commercials make it out to be.

pilot was pretty good. solid acting.. hopefully they don't change any of the actors.

show info. it'll premiere after lost, which, if you don't remember, is a bad show.

after innocence

i just watched a really depressing documentary called after innocence. i don't know what to do or think, just to encourage people to watch it and be aware i guess. anyone going into law should watch it.

curry / simmer sauce recipes

i've found that frozen vegetables make curry/simmer sauce recipes tastier, healthier, and easier. for example, i bought this curry mix from ranch 99 that calls for meat, onions, potatoes, and carrots. just saute all ingredients for a bit, then add like 5 cups of water and cook for 20 mins, then add curry mix and cook for another 20 minutes. at the end of this, the curry is still kind of watery, and the sauce:ingredient ratio is pretty high, and i imagine it's pretty salty too. on top of that, onions, potatoes, and carrots are easy to prepare, but it leaves me wanting more veggies. but i don't want to cut up any more veggies. so, to solve all problems, just add frozen veggies. i added frozen edamame, vegetably medley (carrots, corn, green beans), and peas. i let it cook for like another 5 minutes, and now the sauce is thicker, plus there's more veggies.

billy's balloon

this is pretty old, but my goodness, it's hilarious.

you probably know don hertzfeldt for his movie, "rejected".

remember rick astley - never gonna give you up?

did you know that rick astley isn't black?!?

i didn't, until i saw the music vide for that song..

yes, it's randomly flamboyant.

quick tony and jennie engagement party weekend update

mike wanted me to write about the weekend of tony and jennie's engagement party, with the note that he is awesome. well, i haven't gotten around to writing about it, but here's a quick summary of that weekend:

- drove to phil's place friday night, watched i am legend at the imax theatre, which had a 6-minute preview of the new batman movie. pretty sweet.
- saturday, tony and jennie engagement party in claremont. saw old peeps from college, good times. went to natalee thai for dinner, had to wait an hour for a table, so went to best buy in the meantime, where we tried playing rock band but there was no bass pedal. also watched ucla miss a field goal against.. some other team. it would've been a big deal if they won, cuz i guess they hadn't won in a long time. it was an easy field goal, but the other team managed to block its course and it was basically an airball. anyway, natalee thai was really good. ate family style. had fried bananas and ice cream for dessert. played super monkey ball. drove back to san diego.
- mike is awesome.

oh yeah, pics:

ariel felix at san diego auto show

last saturday, i went to the san diego auto show with my friends from home. we were by kia, when i noticed that the guy at the kia booth looked like a character i had seen on journeyman. i walked closer, and asked him, "are you an actor? were you on journeyman?" he said "wow, good eye." i was like wow. star struck. even though i only knew him from that one episode of journeyman (his imdb page is here, doesn't include journeyman for some reason), it was really surreal to me, being at an auto show, of all things, and talking with someone that i had watched on network tv. i ended up chatting with him for like 10 minutes. i asked him what his name was. he said REL. i'm like huh, how do u spell that? so he pointed at his name tag. i asked him whether the acting or the kia thing was on the side. the kia thing was on the side. we chatted about journeyman. he likes the crew and the actors. i was like "u totally don't have the accent you had on the show. are you cambodian?" i think he said he's filipino. or thai. i don't remember now. anyway, in the episode, he said that the guy who threw him out of the car was his.. shoot.. language instructor? voice instructor? basically it was the guy who helped him be the cambodian character he was supposed to be on the show. what else. i asked him what else he's been in, and he told me he's a regular on grey's anatomy. i was like wow, except, i don't watch that show.

we chitchatted about a couple more things, and then i left. i didn't get a picture with him, even though i kinda wanted to, just cuz it was so cool to recognize an actor and talk with him. oh well, it WAS cool talking with him.
