ford, gm, chrysler

i don't want to pay for them.. i don't like their cars :P

Democrats in Congress offered only a glimmer of hope, saying they would reconsider a rescue if General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC submit convincing turnaround plans by Dec. 2.

"Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the California Democrat.

the only plan that would work is to make cars that are as good or better than japanese cars.

not a rhetorical question: why is the government bailing out car companies? can anyone ask for bailout money, or is it just certain sectors? could mervyns ask for bailout money?

lol.. "The executives also drew fire for failing to take symbolic measures to show they are personally sharing in the sacrifice. Congressmen from both sides of the aisle chastised them for flying corporate jets to Washington to ask for billions of dollars in assistance from taxpayers. They were also pressed to say whether they would cut their salaries to $1. Chrysler's Mr. Nardelli said he would. Messrs. Wagoner and Mulally demurred." well, i appreciate that from nardelli. as for gm and ford: your company is going to die, you won't cut your own pay.. but you'll beg for money from taxpayers? you expect taxpayers to care? how much do you care about your own company? tsk tsk.
